The Block House Gallery in Pullman, one of the only art galleries on Chicago’s far south side, will debut its spring group show on Saturday, April 13th with a reception from 6-10pm. The spring show, “What’s Ours”, exclusively features works from artists who live and work within the Pullman Artspace Lofts, an affordable artist housing complex the opened in 2021 in the historic neighborhood.

PullmanArts – a local, volunteer-run nonprofit – originated the idea to create an affordable live-work space for artists in Pullman, and today that space is home to talented local artists in many different disciplines including visual, audio, performing, and culinary arts. The Block House Gallery does not take a commission on art sold by residents of the Pullman Artspace Lofts – all proceeds from sales of their works during this art show will go to the artists.

The show will feature food, drinks, music, original artworks from residents of the Lofts, as well as more affordable gallery merchandise like pins, prints, and apparel. That merchandise includes a run of custom-commissioned Historic Pullman-themed prints created by Wonder City Studios and sold exclusively by the Block House Gallery.

The gallery is located at 11137 S. Langley Ave. in the neighborhood of Pullman on Chicago’s far south side. The building is fully wheelchair accessible.
