Wabash Y Guided History Tour

The Wabash Y was the heart of cultural and economic progress for African Americans in the Bronzeville region of Chicago for over half a century and is hailed as the birthplace of Black History Month.

Tour visitors will be led by a guide through a guided tour of the building, augmented with a collection of vintage photos and captivating anecdotes to develop an appreciation for the impact this building had in the lives of several thousand Black Chicago residents in the 20th Century.

The tours will be held on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in the month of February 2024 and have a maximum capacity of 15.

Grab your friends and family and join us at the Historic Former Wabash YMCA for an unforgettable experience!

The Renaissance Collaborative, Inc. (TRC) was founded in 1992 to save and restore the Historic Former Wabash Y. Today, the mission of TRC is to promote self-sufficiency through an innovative and comprehensive network of supportive housing, employment, and educational services.
