Drawn from the old English rhyme “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue,” the concert will present works that represent each part of the rhyme. “Something Olde” is the classic Overture for Winds by Felix Mendelssohn; “Something New” is A Song for Tomorrow by Kevin Day; “Something Borrowed” is a transcription of Maurice Ravel’s Laideronnette: Impératrice des Pagodes (from Ma Mère l’Oye); and “Something Blue” is the iconic Blue Shades by Frank Ticheli.
