The Rhythm & The Blues : A Night of Live Music, Film, and Dance

“The Rhythm & The Blues,”  is a powerful multi-media celebration of Chicago’s unparalleled influence on global music. By honoring the Blues—the cornerstone of every American music genre, from Rock and Country to Contemporary Gospel, Soul, R&B, and Hip Hop—this event underscores the genre’s vital role in shaping the musical landscape.

The evening will feature the prestigious Living Legacy Award, honoring legendary musicians Herbie Hancock and Kirkland Townsend with an exquisite tribute crafted by Tiffany & Co.

A dynamic celebration of Chicago’s musical legacy highlighting the true-life story of legendary Bluesman Eddie Taylor, a key architect of the electric guitar. The experience, led by iconic actor Leon, delves into Taylor’s fight for recognition and the personal and industry challenges he faced, offering a compelling narrative of passion, struggle, and the enduring power of music.

The event will also include a tribute to Dinah Washington by Mrs. Dee Alexander, a live performance by Isaiah Sharkey as he releases his new album, and a House music DJ afterparty.
