The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago presents The Dreamscape, a live virtual performance event that features several premieres of time-based and performance works included in the major exhibition The Long Dream. Showcasing the wide range of creative practices in Chicago, audiences navigate through live-streamed music, video art, meditative performances, and intimate conversations with artists, as well as a virtual video gallery. The on-site exhibition, which has been extended through May 2, 2021, due to the museum’s temporary closure in response to rising cases of COVID-19, is inspired by the current moment and features over 70 Chicago artists. Giving shape to issues heightened by the pandemic and social unrest, The Long Dream and The Dreamscape are organized collaboratively by the MCA curatorial team across disciplines and specialties, ranging from the visual arts to performance and public practice. The Dreamscape takes place from 2 to 6 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2021 on Zoom.
