The 2nd Annual Latina Comedy Festival

The Latina Comedy Festival was established in 2022 by Chicago-based comedians Janice V. Rodriguez and Jess Martinez. National Latina Day was quickly approaching and Martinez felt compelled to celebrate with a festival that both Rodriguez and Martinez had talked about doing before. In just a few weeks, the Las Locas Comedy producers not only pulled off a historic event, but sold out the show! The initial iteration of the festival featured a marathon-style showcase that of five-minute sets from 16 Chicago-based Latina/e standup comedians. The crowd reaction was amazing and we knew we had something to expand on. So here were are!

In 2023, the festival moves to October so we’re in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month and we’re expanding to a three-day event across multiple venues in Chicago. Over 35 top Latina/x/e comedians from across the USA will come to Chicago to perform across 3 days, in 4 venues, at 6 different showcases. These top comedians have been featured on Comedy Central, MituTV, HBOMax, Vice, Fuse and top clubs and festivals across the country.
