Symphony Orchestra – Annual Halloween Concert: Symphonic Scare
Annual Halloween Concert: Symphonic Scare
Long before the age of Hollywood, orchestral composers were crafting spine-tingling, bone-chilling music as part of their symphonies, tone poems, and suites. The USO showcases such truly frightening excerpts by Ludwig van Beethoven, Hector Berlioz, Gustav Holst, Gustav Mahler, and Dmitri Shostakovich, along with selections by John Williams. The Hyde Park School of Dance joins the USO for two family-friendly performances with costumes, story-telling, and special effects with an appearance by singers in the University Chorus and Women’s Ensemble. Audience costumes encouraged!
Performances begin at 7pm and 9pm. Free admission. Donations at door: $10 / $5 students & children
