Silent Horror Classic Staged with Progressive Rock Performance
For 100 years, F.W. Murnau’s silent film classic “Nosferatu” has been terrifying audiences. Now Progressive rock guitarist Paul Bielatowicz brings his original score and performance entitled “Nosferatu Live” to the stage during his Chicago premiere of an original, multimedia musical experience. Bielatowicz has recorded and toured with some of the biggest names in prog rock including Carl Palmer, Dream Theater, Yes, and more. He pours his passion for music into the dizzying array of instruments he plays on stage alongside Michael Dutko (Gary Hoey) on bass and Leah Bluestein (Eagles of Death Metal) on drums. In addition, virtual all-star guest performances include: Arthur Brown (Crazy World of Arthur Brown); Dave Bainbridge (Strawbs, Iona); Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns ‘n Roses, Sons of Apollo, Asia); Peter Zay (New Bedford Symphony Orchestra); and Simon Fitzpatrick (ELP Legacy, Jennifer Batten).
Produced by Tim Gingras and TG Productions LLC, the musical experience breathes new life into the iconic 1922 silent horror film on Halloween weekend (Oct. 25-26) at the historic Anthenaeum Center, 2936 N Southport Ave. Intentionally embracing the eerie holiday weekend performance, the all-ages audience is encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes.
