The official RHD aerial group photo, capturing the country’s largest gathering of redheads, will still remain as one of the main highlights of the annual event.

RHD participants attending Irish Fest can expect a weekend of packed with festivities such as: Irish and American food and drink from vendors, step dancing, cultural exhibits, children’s activities and dozens of vendors and artisans selling Irish gifts. Activities include contests for adults and children and cultural exhibits and programs in the Art Gallery, Library and Museum.

Some of the confirmed Irish Fest entertainment and performers include: Gaeilic Storm, We Banjo 3, JigJam, Liz Carroll and Friends, Tupelo, Great Whiskey Project, Rory Makem, the Chancey Brothers, the Dooley Brothers, Irish Heritage Singers, Kennedy’s Kitchen, Larkin and Moran Brothers, Misericordia Heartbreakers, and Heartzingers, Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band, Trinity Irish Dancers and In Spite of Ourselves.

Jim Stoecker, RHD Chicago Affiliate event festival organizer, and life long honorary redhead, first came upon Redhead Days in 2013, while biking across Europe. He chanced upon the 5th Annual Redhead Days in Breda and dreamed of bringing it home to celebrate the love, kinship and immediate bond that all Redheads share with one another.

“RHD Chicago is honored to both participate and associate it’s annual event with this year’s Irish Fest – truly taking it to the next level with providing an overall festival experience for our loyal attendees that travel across country to enjoy some unique camaraderie and ginger pride. It became clear that the benefits of holding this huge gathering at a Chicago-centric accessible location, as well as offering some of the finest local and international entertainment, was the natural next step for RHD.“
