Port Clinton Art Festival: Highland Park, Illinois
Celebrating its 39th year, this nationally renowned, award-winning art festival takes place on several closed streets in beautiful downtown Highland Park and is the largest suburban art festival in all of Illinois! Featuring more than 200 of the country’s most celebrated juried artists, attendees will be treated to a spectacular array of unique art including paintings, ceramics, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, fashion wearables, furniture, leather creations, woodworking, and more! Be sure to visit the Youth Art section of the fest, which displays the amazing talent and original artwork of 10- to 18-year-olds. In addition to the art, guests will enjoy live music on three stages, plenty of food and drink options at nearby restaurants, and a variety of activities for kids including face painting and a giant graffiti wall. Artist booth chats and demonstrations add to the experience, and festival-goers with strollers and wheelchairs can enjoy easy access to all booths. Admission is free and there is plenty of free nearby parking. Attendees are invited to bring their gently used wall art to the festival where it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a local nonprofit that distributes furnishings and art to those leaving shelters and moving into permanent housing. Several artists from this show are participating in Amdur Productions’ Green Ribbon Project. Artists place a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth, and if the piece is sold, 10% of the sale will be donated to Amdur’s 2022 charitable partner, Make-A-Wish Illinois.
