New Acquisitions to the Video Game History Collection
Over the past two years, the Chicago Gamespace Video Game History Collection has steadily increased in quantity and quality. Its focus is on the most important, influential and enduring games from the 20th century. Through partnerships with collectors and lenders, Chicago Gamespace is proud to unveil new acquisitions and loans of Defender, Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat II and other exceptional titles. Newly playable games include an emulation of Spacewar!, Colossal Cave Adventure, Tetris, and DOOM.
These classics join the playable collection of games, artifacts, and image and video documentation Pong, Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Oregon Trail, Super Mario Brothers, Tetris, Game Boy, Prince of Persia, King’s Quest V, NBA Jam, Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, SimCity, Myst, Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Open Sundays 1-5pm by advance ticket purchase. Admission is $5. Kids under 12 are free. Veterans and service members are also free.
