Morton Arboretum Illumination: Tree Lights Driving Experience
This awe-inspiring winter tradition has been reimagined as a two-mile driving experience designed with patrons’ safety in mind. Illumination will dazzle visitors with its unparalleled spectacle of color, light, and synced musical soundtrack they won’t experience anywhere else.
From November 20 through January 3, 2021, guests will remain in their cars and tune to a synced musical soundtrack via radio while driving nearly two-miles among the Arboretum’s majestic trees. In prior years, the exhibition was along a one-mile walking path.
The 2020 driving experience offers several new twists as well as the popular returning favorites:
- The driving route is twice as long as the walking path of previous years, winding through almost 2 miles of the Arboretum’s 1,700 acres with more than 10,000 trees along the route.
- Extended hours, until 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursdays, and 11:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
- For the first time, Illumination will be OPEN on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day!
- Tickets are currently on sale with some dates already approaching “sold out” status
