What matters is what flows, easy and unbothered by expectation or convention. Newness blooms, reflection creates, making endures. Matter—Alyssa Low’s debut solo show—explores where memories take on new meaning.

Low’s practice is one of tension and contrast. Centered around identity and belonging, the simple shapes and patterns hold complexity in memories and feelings. By stripping pictorial identity as much as possible to expose these elements for what they are, Low is able to metabolize the work—allowing herself to let the shapes interact with itself and for her to consume it omnisciently.
