Lot Jams: The Luna Blues Machine and FIA

Lot Jams is a free, family-friendly music and dance series brought to you by North River Commission and the Albany Park Chamber of Commerce. Join us all summer long for free concerts and performances all around Albany Park.
On October 8, come out for The Luna Blues Machine with a special performance by FIA (Filipinos in Alliance)!
“Doors” open at 6:30, and the show will take place between 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Bring a chair, sit back, relax, and enjoy the live music!
The Luna Blues Machine is a Chicago based acoustic hip-hop, Latin, folk-soul band fronted by sisters Belinda and Maritza Cervantes. Founded in 2001, the LBM first started performing at Subterranean’s Open Mic Night, cultivating their own unique sound. Today The Luna Blues Machine continues to be a staple in Chicago’s music scene. Their timeless music is still attracting new fans and keeps old fans coming back for more.
As one of the five subgroups within Filipinos in Alliance (FIA) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, FIA Cultural focuses on teaching aspects of Filipino Culture to its members from teaching different cultural dances (such as Tinikling and Maglalatik), to showcasing how to cook different Filipino foods. We hope to challenge our understanding of our heritage by building an environment of traditional and modern Filipino ideals and by continuing to strengthen new and old relationships.
