Destinos al Aire
The Chicago Latino Theater Alliance (CLATA) presents “Destinos al Aire” a live open air and socially distanced drive-in celebration of Latino theatre, music, film and culture to kick-off Latino Heritage Month celebration. This Latino arts extravaganza is presented in collaboration with National Museum of Mexican Art, International Latino Cultural Center, Puerto Rican Arts Alliance and Lead Sponsor Goodman Theatre.
“Destinos al Aire” will be emceed by WGN-TV Around Town reporter Ana Belaval and comedian/producer Mike Oquendo. Artists with local Latino companies Aguijón Theater, Repertorio Latino Theater Company, Teatro Vista and UrbanTheater Company will introduce live vignettes of their work with a special video message. Cielito Lindo Family Folk Music and Chinelos en Chicago will perform live and the evening will close with a screening of “American Curious”, the 2018 Chicago Latino Film Festival Audience Choice Winner, starring Mexican actress Ana Claudia Talancón.
Doors open at 5:30pm, live performances begin at 6:00pm and film screening at 7:30pm. From the safety of your own vehicle, you’ll be able to order food and beverages to be delivered directly to you. Audiences may bring lawn chairs to sit outside alongside their vehicle, adhering to social distance and masks requirements. Get your tickets before they’re gone!!
