Curatorial Conversation: theNate Director and Curator Jeff Stevenson and artist Christine Tarkowski

21c Museum Hotel Chicago is honored to collaborate with theNate on this month’s Curatorial Conversation. Director and Curator of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park (theNate) and the Visual Arts Gallery at Governors State University, Jeff Stevenson will be in conversation with artist Christine Tarkowski about her current work in Millennium Park, Chicago: “When we call…”. The conversation will include her work in theNate’s collection, “Working on the Failed Utopia”, and everything in between.

Christine Tarkowski is a sculptor and installation artist working in a wide variety of mediums including architecture, sculpture, glass models, textiles, printed matter, photography, and song which range in size and scale. Her work responds to the impact of architecture and other human-made structures on natural environments and spaces. In addition to her renowned solo exhibitions and commissioned works for world-class institutions, Tarkowski is a professor of Fiber and Material Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
