Crip Talk: JJJJJerome Ellis – Aster of Ceremonies (Hybrid)


Stuttering poet and musician JJJJJerome Ellis will perform excerpts from and discuss their new book, Aster of CeremoniesThis will be the first public offering of the Poetry Foundation’s Crip Talks, a series of workshops and artist talks by disabled writers, artists, and activists organized by the Poetry Foundation’s Accessibility Task Force.

This is a hybrid event, which will be offered in-person and via livestream.

JJJJJerome Ellis is an animal, artist, and proud stutterer. He makes music and writes books. He lives in Norfolk, Virginia, with his wife, ecologist-poet Luísa Black Ellis. They love walking in the woods, reading, and drinking tea together.

In-Person Attendance
Masks are strongly encouraged and available at check-in for those who would like to wear one. Please note that some event performers may choose to perform without a mask. The Foundation reserves the right to update this policy if community levels of COVID-19 increase significantly.
