  • Five years later we are back! Boaz Mcgee will direct the reprise of this award winning production. 50 years later this production was based on the film, which was written by Eric Monte, that deals with a group of black high school friends living, loving and learning about life in Chicago in 1964. Like American Graffiti, Cooley High deals with girls, school, and police troubles as a group of high-school seniors prepare for post-high-school life. The chums are  "Preach," who loves to read poetry and history and wants to become a Hollywood screenwriter, but who has the worst grades in the school; and  Cochise, the high-school basketball star and suave lady-killer. Preach has to contend with love problems in the form of Brenda, school problems with emphatic teacher Mr. Mason, and law problems with street toughs Stone and Robert. We catch up with them 55 years later.
