On April 12th, the CHIME Studio (Chicago Integrated Media Experimental Studio) will present CHIMEFest II, an annual celebration of electroacoustic music produced at the University of Chicago.

This concert highlights composers and musicians from the UChicago community with two programs of innovative works featuring electronics. Additionally, there will be special performances of music by Betty Olivero and Kaija Saariaho.

5:30 PM
The first program will feature music by Betty Olivero, Hunter Brown and Kieran Daly, Kari Watson, Xiaofeng Dong, and Jack Cramer.

7:30 PM
The second program will feature music by Darlene Castro Ortiz, Paul Novak, Ryan Garvey, Justin Weiss, and Kaija Saariaho.

CHIMEFest II features the UChicago New Music Ensemble, as well as guest musicians Clara Lyon, David Kuo, Ben Melsky, Will Myers, Megan Torti, Emma Hospelhorn, Stephen Todd, Daniel T Lewis, Kieran Daly, and Ofra Itzchaki.

This concert was made possible by the support of The Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition and The University of Chicago Music Department. Betty Olivero’s commission is supported by the Greenberg Center for Jewish Studies through the Shulamit Ran and Abraham Lotan Visiting Distinguished Artists Fund.
