Chicago Polar Plunge
The “must-attend” winter event in the city of Chicago – the Chicago Polar Plunge – returns to North Avenue Beach on Sunday, March 3rd, as thousands of fearless weather warriors plunge into the icy waters of Lake Michigan for the athletes of the Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities (SOC/SCC) program. Now in its 24th year, the Chicago Polar Plunge has become the one of the largest plunges in the Midwest, with nearly 5,000 people participating each year.
Registration is now open at www.chicagopolarplunge.org. Registrants are asked to raise a minimum of $200. All participating plungers will receive free parking at Lincoln Park Zoo, or a free bus for groups of 20 or more; a souvenir t-shirt; towel when exiting the water; and free photo downloads.
