Carl Sandburg Literary Awards Dinner Honoring George R.R. Martin

This year, “A Song of Fire and Ice” author George RR Martin – whose books inspired the “Game of Thrones series”- will receive the Carl Sandburg literary Award at Chicago Public Library’s dinner on Thursday, October 10. Over 80 of Chicago’s most acclaimed authors will be in attendance, and legendary Chicago newscaster Bill Kurtis will be hosting the event. The evening’s highlight is always the intimate onstage conversation with the Sandburg Award honoree led by best-selling author and National Public Radio host Scott Simon. Also being honored that evening is author Dr. Eve L. Ewing, who will be receiving the 21st Century Award at the dinner. This event is open to the public, and individual tickets are available for $1,250 and $2,500. For more information on the event or to purchase tickets, tables, or a sponsorship, contact Rachael Everson at reverson@cplfoundation.org.
