Blues and Gospel Legend Mavis Staples to Headline Hot Stove Cool Music’s Return to Chicago

Following a two-year hiatus necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Hot Stove Cool Music returns to Chicago as an in-person event for the first time since 2019 on July 1. Rock & Roll and Blues Halls of Fame honoree Mavis Staples will headline the all-star lineup of performers at the benefit concert, with proceeds benefitting Paul and Theo Epstein’s Foundation To Be Named Later.

The event will feature appearances by indie rock favorite Juliana Hatfield, the Chicago Children’s Choir and the Hot Stove All-Stars, who are fronted by event co-founder Peter Gammons. The Baseball Hall of Fame journalist’s band will include former New York Yankees star Bernie Williams, Letters To Cleo singer Kay Hanley, Ted Leo, Will Dailey, Ed Valauskas, Scott Lucas, Dag Juhlin, Kelly Hogan and Jennifer Hall, as well as special guests.
