Besa: A Code of Honor
  • This exhibition features images by American photographer Norman Gershman of Muslim Albanians who rescued Jews during the Holocaust. Albania was the only country with more Jews at the end of WWII than beforehand, as Albanians saved their neighbors and those who took refuge in their country. These remarkable acts were grounding in Besa, a code of honor that still exists in the country today. The exhibition is a production of the Museums Division, Yad Vashem.
