60th Chicago Book and Paper Fair

There is nothing quite like the rush of adrenaline you get lining up for a rare book show, and then streaming into a huge room surrounded by books, old and rare, or newer and iconic.

The elegant Beaux Arts ballroom of the Plumbers Hall is the setting where book dealers will offer for sale, on June 17th, a wide range of books, maps, prints, and ephemera, including autographed books and manuscripts, limited editions, collectible collaborations between writers and visual artists, modern first editions, African American history and literature, exploration, milestones of science, antique and leather-bound books, Chicago and local history, demonstrations of book marbling, military, Americana, radical literature, LGBTQIA, and more.

All ages welcome. You may find a book you’ve long been searching for, or a book you didn’t know you wanted until you saw it. You may even find that perfect Father’s Day present!

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students with I.D., children 12 and under are admitted free. There is free surface parking adjacent to the venue, and paid parking ($4 / hr) in the building garage. Accessible by the CTA. The book fair is sponsored by the Midwest Antiquarian Booksellers Association. Find out more at or find us on Facebook.
