4th Annual Roosevelt Collection Shops “Dachshund Derby” Dog Race Event August 10th

A round of a-paws is in order, the “Dachshund Derby” is back! On Saturday, August 10, the Roosevelt Collection Shops, 150 W. Roosevelt Rd., will welcome pups and paw-rents of Dachshund and Dachshund-mixed breeds to participate in their 4th annual “Dachshund Derby” event from 1pm – 4 pm on the shopping center’s spacious outdoor rooftop space. Overlooking the beautiful Chicago skyline, registration fees from the event will benefit the Midwest Dachshund Rescue, working to rescue and rehome pets in the Midwest. The entry fee for participating pups is $10. Parents and pups of all breeds are welcome to attend the event to spectate and enjoy the on-site entertainment for free. Race registration is now open online via Eventbrite. 

Attendees and their furry companions will enjoy food from various vendors, pet-friendly activities and the opportunity to experience the main event: the Dachshund Derby where nearly 100 pups will be split into categories (puppy, adult, senior and Dachshund mixes) to then compete in the final race to find out which Dachshund pup reigns supreme. Pups not racing in the event are also welcome to join in on the fun of the event and experience a wide range of activities and treats from local vendors.
