36th Annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games Makes Its Much Anticipated Return to Aye-Tasca This June


Scotland returns to Aye-Tasca!Following over two years of virtual events, the Chicago Scots are thrilled to officially bring back Midwest’s Largest Scottish Event, the 36th Annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games. This two-day outdoor festival is slated to arrive to Hamilton Lakes, 1 Pierce Place, Itasca, IL, on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18. The treasured summer-kickoff celebration will bring back all the crowd favorites, from the iconic caber toss to the Highland Dancers, from bagpipe competitions to the Dogs of Scotland and British Car Show, and everything in between. Whether Scottish by birth, by heritage or strictly by inclination, this family-friendly festival is not to be missed. Plus, kids under 12 years of age are free this year! All proceeds will benefit the Chicago Scots, one of the world’s largest Scottish cultural organizations and the oldest 501(c)3 charity in Illinois, and their principal charity, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care in North Riverside. Over the past 36 years, this festival has attracted as many as 15,000 attendees annually to experience Scotland’s rich culture and special heritage. This annual gathering has featured all grades of piping and drumming competitions and has in recent years been the largest pipe band competition in North America. and much more. The festival launches on Friday, June 17 at 1 p.m., and will feature national and international heavy athletics champions, along with dance competitions, whisky tastings, children’s activities celtic music and much more.

The festivities continue on Saturday, June 18 from 8 a.m.- 10 p.m. Guests can participate in the various popular games and the Celtic Rock Stage entertainment this year will be high energy. Following the official closing ceremony for the competitions and the traditional massed bands performance guests can stay and listen to music, enjoy beer, whisky and other refreshments into the night.

Ticket prices for the 36th Annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games are as follows:

Friday: Early Bird (Ends March 20) – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $16.00; Seniors (60+) and Active Military are $12.00

Saturday: Early Bird (Ends March 20) – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $24.00; Seniors (60+) and Active Military are $20.00

Two Day Pass: Early Bird (Ends March 20) – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $36.00; Seniors (60+) and Active Military are $28.00

Friday- Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $20.00; Seniors (60+) and Active Military are $15.00

Saturday– Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $30.00; Seniors (60+) and Active Military are $25.00

Two Day Pass – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $45.00; Seniors (60+) and Active Military are $35.00

Patron Weekend Pass (21+)– $160 includes admission to festival both days, premier parking, complimentary food and beverage service at the Patron’s Tent, special whisky tastings, and meet and greet with athletes.

Patron Weekend Pass (Family Four Pack)– $360 includes admission for two adults and two children (12 and under) for both days, premier parking, complimentary food and beverage at the Patron’s Tent, special whisky tastings, and meet and greet with athletes.

The festival is held at Hamilton Lakes, Itasca, Illinois, located at I-290 and Thorndale Avenue.
