The Illusionists

Hundreds of theatre productions are playing in Chicago for extended runs (hello Hamilton!) and open runs (from Blue Man Group to the many great nightly shows at The Second City), however, some only offer performances for a few days or a few weeks. Here are four highlights of what to see on stage now in Chicago before it's too late!

Mark your calendars, Chicago Theatre Week is back! Participating productions have not been announced yet, but we have an exclusive sneak peek featuring select shows that are sure to sell out fast. Tickets for Chicago Theatre Week (CTW) go on sale Tuesday, January 10 at 10AM CST. CTW will take place February 9 - 19, 2017.

The holidays are so much fun in Chicago! The city feels like a winter wonderland: Trees covered in snow, sparkling lights and lots of unique stores where you can find that perfect gift. 90s nostalgia comes full force in FRIENDS: The One Where They Sing! (The Unauthorized Musical Parody). There were ten seasons of the hit TV show — if you've burned through all 236 episodes on Netflix already, bravo — but this show focuses on the season that stole our hearts: season one. See this 90-minute musical comedy (featuring an all-Chicago cast) now at the MCL Chicago stage.

Thanks to the talents of The Q Brothers and Chicago Shakespeare Creative Producer Rick Boynton, Othello: The Remix (playing now through May 6) entertains from beginning to end, providing a fresh, urban take on the classic Bard tragedy.
