Jazz fans don't have to wait until the famed Chicago Jazz Festival (though the 2017 headliners were just announced!) to hear live jazz in the Windy City. This is a music lovers paradise so you can catch all types of live music on any night of the week. But there are special weekly events in the summer that make hearing live jazz a warm weather treat. Art Institute of Chicago

A trip to a Chicago museum is always a fun learning experience, but during the holidays, special events, fantastical decor and seasonal workshops offer a brilliant bonus. Only in Chicago can you travel the world of holiday traditions, celebrate with the belugas and eat breakfast with both Santa and a T. rex. Here are six ways to celebrate the season at Chicago's most beloved museums

Museum Campus ChicagoChicago's Museum Campus is a 57-acre park located alongside Lake Michigan and is home to 3 beloved city institutions: the Adler Planetarium, the Shedd Aquarium, and The Field Museum of Natural History. The entire area is landscaped with greenery and flora making the campus a wonderful place for a summer picnic. Follow the isthmus to nearby Northerly Island, where a nature area features beautiful strolling paths and an unbeatable view of the Chicago skyline.

Jazzin' at the Shedd

Summer in Chicago is all about enjoying the great outdoors! Picnics, patios and parks beckon as the city comes alive under the summer sun. Here are two unique, weekly outdoor events featuring live music at the Shedd Aquarium and Museum of Contemporary Art that you won't want to miss.

Touch a stingray at Shedd Aquarium, take a hayride through Lincoln Park Zoo, or create a butterfly mask with a Chicago artist at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Animal and nature lovers can enjoy these activities and more during Chicago Museum Week, Oct. 1-7.

Shedd Aquarium - Sharks

Sharks. They're not cute. They're not cuddly. And yet they're amazing, fascinating creatures. Shark Week begins Sunday, July 5, on the Discovery Channel, and while watching these fin-tastic fish on TV is cool, seeing them in person is incredible. Did you know that Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, a leader in animal care and conservation, is also home to 11 different species of sharks? Here are seven ways to celebrate Shark Week at the Shedd Aquarium.

Jazzin at the Shedd

You'll be groovin' with the fishies this week when the Shedd Aquarium kicks off its wildly popular Jazzin' at the Shedd series. Celebrating a striking 20th anniversary this year the Aquarium has gathered another summer's worth of local musicians and even expanded its programming to please the analytical as well as the artistic. You can catch these concerts every Wednesday beginning tomorrow (June 25) through September 3.
