A trip to Navy Pier always promises a day of fun; but this summer, Chicago's No.1 tourist attraction ups the ante with a brand-new, 13-acre green outdoor space that's packed with amazing (and free!) programming. Polk Bros Park will now serve as the Pier’s gateway and the city’s unofficial front yard. Two performance and picnic-friendly lawns, located at the south end of the park, will offer free arts and cultural programming throughout the summer and beyond.

Meet Cube Solver, Daisy and Omron: Cube Solver can master a Rubik’s Cube in a flash, Daisy has six snake-like legs, making it easy for her to navigate even the roughest terrain and Omron is an agile shipping factory worker. This robotic trio, along with 40 of their pals, will be moving into Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry this May, with a mission to introduce humans to the future as part of the Robot Revolution exhibit.

Chicago Kids and Family Yoga Fest

Every spring, kids in Chicago step out into the sunshine and embrace the wind at the Chicago Kids & Kites Festival, an annual tradition established by our former mayor and kite enthusiast, Richard M. Daley. This year marks the 16th annual festival, and will be held on Saturday, May 3 at Cricket Hill in Montrose Harbor, from 10am - 4pm. Arrive early: 5,000 free kite kits will be gifted the first 5,000 children!
