With so many free things to do this month, there's a lot to be grateful for this November! As the holiday season officially begins, there's a long list of things that will become full: tummies, parks, and ice skating rinks are among them, but nothing is more full than Chicago's social calendar!

Every year, Santa Claus swings through Chicago on his sleigh so he can do some last-minute Mag Mile shopping and check the lists of all the good little boys and girls. If you're looking for that treasured Santa photo opp, or if you just want to let him know that you've been nicer than naughtier, here are eight spots to catch Santa in Chicago before he heads back to the North Pole to prepare for his grand Christmas Eve voyage around the world.

Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving! Once you're done eating, here are some top events you'll want to check out this weekend. We're right around the corner from Christmas, and Chicago is the perfect place to get yourself in the spirit, from shopping vintage in Fulton Market to singing along to your favorite carols downtown!

Art and Faith of the Creche

The current exhibit, Art and Faith of the Crèche: The Collection of James and Emilia Govan. showcases crèches from around the world, each reflecting a unique, artistic perspective on the Nativity. Another new exhibit, Swaddled in Stone: Shona Sculptures of the Holy Family, shares six beautiful sculptures of the Holy Family created by Shona sculptors from Zimbabwe.
