Fall ushers in a brand new, not-to-be-missed season of live theater in Chicago. From thought-provoking, to educational to just plain fun, there's a show that will appeal to every kid under the sun. Here are five kid-friendly shows you'll want to catch this fall in Chicago.

Alice in Wonderland

Thankfully, the Chicago Children's Theatre has flipped that script: Wonderland, Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure, a new family musical created by top Chicago director Rachel Rockwell and music director Michael Mahler, managed to spark the imaginations of my daughter, age 5, and her two friends, ages 6 and 7.

Chicago offers an amazing array of kid and adult friendly theater. And theater in Chicago is surprisingly affordable, too.
