Chicago certainly knows how to celebrate Christmas - especially when it comes to our diverse theatre scene, where a collection of alternative holiday-themed shows are becoming the new theatrical tradition. And here's the best part - you can see a collection of these shows and receive some fun, feestive perks with The Holiday Theatre Passport. So while the classic telling of A Christmas Carol is certainly a fine and festive way to spend the holidays, there are several new shows that spread holiday cheer with a touch of camp, a dose of creativity and a little Klingon.
Six diverse theatre companies have joined forces to offer the Holiday Theatre Passport, a unique incentive for Chicago theatergoers to explore the city's many alternative holiday theatre offerings. Guests who attend four different productions will receive a free ticket from each theatre to one of their 2014 productions. Guests who attend all six productions will be entered into a drawing for one of five season subscriptions, consisting of memberships or ticket packages to the participating theatres. The Passport also includes discounts to select productions.
How It Works
Pick up a Holiday Theatre Passport at any participating theatre. Collect ticket stubs and attach them to the passport (some theatres will attach a stamp or sticker). Mail the completed Passport with your name, address, phone number and email address to: eta Creative Arts Foundation, 7558 S. South Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60619.
