Sports Bar - Fans - Cheering

The 2013 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is coming to Chicago March 14-17. To celebrate, Chicago Like a Local will be highlighting the best area places to watch each Big Ten team. For Penn State fans, there are a couple fantastic spots to check out the Nittany Lions in action. Earlier this week Penn State beat No. 4 Michigan for their first Big Ten win of the season. Fluke? Probably. But if the Nittany Lions can rattle of, say, four of five more of those, they too can be Big Ten Tournament champions.

The Aberdeen Tap (440 N. Aberdeen St.)

The Aberdeen Tap has a loaded menu with anything a fan would want before, during and after a game. They're known for their great sandwiches, the stuffed "Grinders" and their sausage sandwiches, known as their "Bangers." Be sure to check out their website or Facebook page for daily drink and food specials.

AJ Hudson's Public House (3801 N. Ashland Ave.)

This great bar, located between Grace and Byron, offers fantastic atmosphere and drink specials for any game. If you enjoy a good beef patty, their Hudson Burger is well worth the trip. The kitchen stays open until midnight and there's always a crowd. Stop by their Facebook page for specials and events as well.

Gamekeepers (1971 N. Lincoln Ave.)

With three dozen flat screens and three enormous HDTV DLP projectors, you won't miss a minute of March Madness at Gamekeepers. Lincoln Park is a lively neighborhood with a lot of Big Ten alums in the area. If DJ Newball and the boys get hot, this could be a perfect spot for spirited trash talk.
