'MADE IN CHICAGO' MOVIE SERIES (10/31)
Dress in your "Razzle Dazzle" Jazz-era /1920s best for the "Made in Chicago" Movie Series at Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. This free series paying homage to the movies that feature Chicago and its rich history kicks off with a Halloween spectacular tomorrow. Gather in the Auditorium's lobby for a "Speakeasy Cocktail Hour" featuring specialty cocktails and a live musical performance, then sing along to show-stopping tunes of Chicago. It'll be a rollicking good time!
Redmoon's wildly popular costume party Boneshaker is back for its fifth annual spectacular installment tomorrow. For one night only, Redmoon transforms its massive Pilsen headquarters into an otherworldly playground for 1,000 revelers with interactive experiences, inventive machines, creative food and cocktails, and dancing to beats from DJs on three different dance floors.
Basketball's back, baby! The Bulls take the United Center court tomorrow night for their home opener against the Cavs and that LeBron guy. Both squads are projected to be in the mix at the top of the conference - don't be surprised to see them square off in the Eastern Conference Finals.
HARLEM FINE ARTS SHOW (THRU 11/2)
The Harlem Fine Arts Show is back for its 5th year anniversary nationwide tour in Chicago at Merchandise Mart this weekend. HFAS 2014 is among the largest and most prestigious collections of works featuring African-American emerging and established artists. Artists from past shows have included Leroy Campbell, Corinthia Peoples, Elizabeth Baez, Woodrow Nash, True African Art , and many more.
NORTHALSTED HALLOWEEN PARADE (10/31)
For the 18th year, a group of creative souls will bare their alter egos, dark sides, or their shadows, to the world on Halloween, parading them down one of Chicago's hottest entertainment districts: North Halsted Street. The Northalsted Halloween Parade never disappoints, and neither do the costumes!
DANCING PROS: LIVE! (11/1-2)
Are you a fan of "Dancing with the Stars" or simply incredible ballroom dancing? Then you need to see Dancing Pros: Live! at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Edyta Sliwinska (above) of Dancing With The Stars serves as the head judge and Chelsie Hightower of DWTS competes in this unforgettable live competition show hosted by Golden Globe® nominee and star of the hit TV show Growing Pains, Alan Thicke. The audience chooses the winner!
