9TH ANNUAL FOLK ART FESTIVAL (THROUGH 10/19)

National Museum of Mexican Art

Meet Mexico's finest folk artists and watch live art demonstrations at the 9th Annual Folk Art Festival at the National Museum of Mexican Art, ending this weekend. Artists on hand hail from all corners of Mexico, each with his or her own unique techniques, subject matters and mediums, though all share a passion for Mexico's rich folk art traditions. From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. enjoy free demonstrations and sales through Sunday.

 

FASHION FOCUS: CHICAGO'S FASHION WEEK (THROUGH 10/19)

Celebrate the city's fashion industry with Fashion Focus: Chicago's Fashion Week. Chicago joins cities around the world with this citywide exhibition of the newest trends and looks in fashion. Fashion Focus ends this weekend, but there's still time to take advantage of the multitude of shopping events, fashion shows and panels. Get a behind-closed-doors look at 150 of Chicago's coolest places with the Chicago Architecture Foundation's Open House Chicago. This free public festival gives people access to 150 buildings across the city, letting you explore hidden gems and architectural treasures in Chicago's diverse neighborhoods.
