"Baby, it's cold outside," is no excuse to stay cooped up indoors. Chicago's bringing it every weekend, this one especially. Tons of free events are going on this weekend, including the always awesome 2nd Fridays on the Cultural Mile, the Annual Holiday Bazaar, Diwali Festival at the Art Institute, and the chill Chillfest. In the meantime, check out the Lincoln Park Zoo's Sleepover with the Animals and the Lively Water Whiskey Festival at The Field Museum (fortunately those don't overlap...).

Let's go, Chicago.

Sleepover with the Animals

Wanna give the kiddies a sleepover they'll never forget? Take them to the Lincoln Park Zoo tomorrow for an indoor overnight adventure! The evening begins with dinner, followed by opportunities to explore the nightlife of the zoo's residents. Zoo experts will be on hand to tell some stories about the animals, then the night winds down with quiet games and a bedtime snack before you and the rest of the zoo turn in. Familes can stay just for the evening activities or the entire night.

2nd Fridays

It's back! 2nd Fridays on the Cultural Mile returns with free and discounted concerts, cultural exhibitions, city tours and a host of other fun activities. Tomorrow, you get 20% off Beyond the Score tickets to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; 20% discounts on Chicago Trolley & Double Decker tours; free, open studio time at the Fine Arts Building Studios; 25% off Field Museum Discovery Pass or All-Access Passes (with code); and much, much more.

Illinois Holocaust Museum

Visit Skokie's Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center this weekend for a world market extravaganza. This annual market features unique gifts, international trade goods, books, homewares, jewelry and one-of-a-kind Judaica from across the globe. Museum admission is not required to attend.

It's no secret that the Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhoods are some of the city's hippest and most eclectic communities in Chicago. They're putting that originality on display Saturday with more than 100 bands performing in 30+ local businesses, offering up a unique and intimate experience. You already know it's gonna be supes chills.

Be sure to check out our blog for more on Chillfest!

Art Institute Exterior

Celebrate the Hindu Festival of Light, Diwali, at the Art Institute this weekend! You can create a work of art inspired by Indian traditions at activity stations, discover Hindu stories by exploring sculptures in the galleries with a costumed dancer, and enjoy full dance performances by Kalapriya. Head to the museum's Ryan Education Center for this free event!

Lively Water Whiskey Festival

Original distillers called whiskey "lively water," and The Field Museum will show you why with this informative whiskey tasting event. Sip on a variety of styles (full list of distillers here), learn from master distillers and taste unique whiskey cocktails, a big Chicago trend at the moment. Photo Courtesy of Red Frog Events
