Lakefront Fireworks & Beer Garden Concerts Kick Off
May 26-29 // FREE
Lakefront fireworks signal the start of summer — get a front row seat at Navy Pier! The signature music-synced fireworks series is offered every Wednesday 9:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10:15 p.m. all season long. Catch the spectacular display of light and color illuminating Chicago’s night sky from anywhere on the Pier starting with the first one on Saturday, May 27. And did you know? Every Saturday through July 30, the fireworks will be synchronized to The Rolling Stones soundtracks in a nod to the mega rock music exhibit: Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones at Navy Pier.
Don't miss the sights and sounds of the Live on the Lake! concert lineup, the Pier’s free music and dance series held outdoors at the Miller Lite Beer Garden. New this year, Navy Pier has teamed up with big local names such as Buddy Guy’s Legends and Old Town School of Folk Music to present a talented lineup of artists that encapsulate the spirit and diversity of Chicago’s rich music history.
Jurassic World Opens at The Field Museum
May 26 (through January 7, 2018) // Tickets $10-25
The astonishing Jurassic World franchise comes alive with larger-than-life dinosaurs taking over the grounds of The Field Museum. Not to be contained by museum walls, these large and incredibly realistic dinosaurs have turned a massive 16,000-square-foot tent outside on the lawn into the theme park Isla Nublar. Yes there's dino dung and a DNA lab to get hands on with, and the iconic Jurassic World gates to snap a photo with. But the biggest thrills are in seeing the creatures up close: standing under a towering Brachiosaurus, stepping into the Velociraptor paddock, and watching the most vicious of them all, Tyrannosaurus rex, get friendly with a park jeep.
Jurassic World: The Exhibition will be open seven days a week from 9am–5pm, and 5–9pm this summer. Ticket prices are $10 for children and $15 for adults for daytime entry (9am–5pm) in addition to general museum admission and $20 for children and $25 for adults for evening entry.
