Art Institute of Chicago Welcomes Back "Whistler's Mother"
Through May 21

Examine the history and fame of "Whistler's Mother" with this focused installation featuring paintings, prints, drawings, posters, and other ephemera alongside the portrait itself-in Chicago for a limited time only. The presentation also explores Whistler's use of family members as subjects, his abstract treatment of conventional genres such as portraiture and landscape, and the arc of his professional ambition.

Hubbard Street's Season 39 Spring Series

One of the first dance companies in the U.S. to perform work by global choreographer Nacho Duato, Hubbard Street Dance pays tribute to its two-decade relationship with the Spanish-born artist by reviving his plaintive, pastoral Jardí Tancat (1983), for three couples and set to Catalan music recorded by vocalist María del Mar Bonet i Verdaguer; and a duet from Multiplicity.

City Winery Heat Domes

City Winery Chicago returns downtown on the Chicago Riverwalk and comes with a new preseason feature, three enclosed heated River Domes which offer couples and small groups private outdoor seating and shelter from winter elements while enjoying beautiful views of the river and downtown skyline. River Domes are available by reservation starting this St. Patrick's Day, March 17 through April 30, 2017 from 11:00am - 7:00pm daily. River Dome reservations last 90 minutes with prices varying from $150 per person for two to three guests, $125 per person for four to five guests and $100 per person for six guests.

Public House unveiled their March flavor, named the Patty Cake Shake ($14), incorporating Baileys Irish Cream, Rumple Minz, and then, of course, the Irish beer, Guinness, Public House has achieved the ultimate St. Patrick's Day flavor into one. They are also offering the Patty Cakes ($11), decorated with everyone's favorite childhood cereal, Lucky Charms topped off with marshmallows and a minty whipped cream to add to the "top of the morning" breakfast dish.

Matcha Gelato at Bar Siena

Matcha ($5), the green tea processed powder, has become a common trend among many and BomboBar has taken it upon themselves to combine the healthy ingredient with their house-made gelato. The Match Gelato is crunchie, due to the added wafer balls, and creamy confectionery can be ordered off the BomboBar menu either in-house at Bar Siena or at the BomboBar window, located on Green Street.

WhirlyBall Chicago

WhirlyBall is partnering with Goose Island to offer a special beer promotion throughout the entire March Madness tournament. WhirlyBall will use their 60 TVs and 32 beers on tap to create a fun March Madness environment for any and all basketball fans to enjoy. After the first round of 64 teams play, WhirlyBall will assign each of their 32 draft lines to the remaining 32 colleges. WhirlyBall will offer $1 off select drafts throughout the tournament. Fans can follow their favorite beers and schools all the way to the Final Four.

 

AceBounce's Basket Case Promotion

AceBounce will celebrate the NCAA First & Second rounds with free ping-pong, lunch specials and all the basketball action on AceBounce's TVs (sound on). Chef Rick Gresh has created multiple lunch specials including: "The Bounce Burger" ($7), Vegetarian Taco Pizza ($7) and a Chicken Sandwich ($7) all available from 12pm-4pm. Basketball fans can enjoy The Basket Case promotion from 12pm-4pm. Games Gurus will also run mini-hoops games at the ping pong tables.
