Chicago Jazz Festival

Join the favorite Labor Day Weekend tradition, the Chicago Jazz Festival showcases free live performances by Chicago's vast jazz talent alongside national and international jazz legends and artists. It is held in Millennium Park and the Chicago Cultural Center. Music headliners include Orbert Davis, Carla Bley, Tim Berne and many more. Chicago Fringe Festival

Now in its seventh year, The 2016 Chicago Fringe Festival unites daring theatergoers with emerging performing artists including 50 groups in about 200 performances. 50% of the show are local from the Chicago-land area and 50% come from various places across the nation and the world. All shows are uncensored, however, Kids Fringe (September 3 - 11) will present theatre aimed at audiences ages 5 - 12 with free workshops and are guaranteed to be appropriate for the young age group.
African Festival of the Arts

Experience a four-day festival of African culture and heritage in Chicago's Washington Park with hundreds of vendors and artisans from Africa. The African Diaspora will present artifacts, textiles, traditional crafts and museum quality art. Enjoy the global arch of African influenced food, music, and dance traditions during an entertainment rich, family-focused celebration.
North Coast Music Festival

See the best in dance, hip-hop, indie, funk, jam bands, and everything else sprinkled in between at the North Coast Music Festival over Labor Day weekend in Union Park. The eclectic mix brings together music fans of all kinds of genres, celebrating their love for music with headliners ODESZA, BASSNECTAR and ZEDD.
The Great American Lobster Festival

Head to Chicago's legendary Navy Pier for The Great American Lobster Festival during its 3rd year. Enjoy live lobster feasting — flown in fresh from the east coast, live music performances, family friendly activities, unique shopping, and cold beverages. This year's festival will take place on Friday and Saturday of Labor Day Weekend - capping off with Navy Pier's final firework show of the season Saturday night.
Cap off your weekend with games, music, and amazing views on The Great American Lobster Cruise departing from Navy Pier on Sunday, September 4.
Taste of Polonia

The Taste of Polonia over Labor Day weekend at the Copernicus Center in Jefferson Park offers non-stop live music, food and fun for four days. The festival features a variety of Polish food and beer, kids stage & fun zone (inflatables & climbing wall), casino & full bar inside Copernicus Center, carnival rides & games, 60+ vendors and 4 stages with 30+ live bands: rock, pop, jazz, polka, reggae, world & more!
City Segway Tours

Offering a variety of tour times and options, there is an activity for everyone. Enjoy the last two weekends of Saturday fireworks as the summer in Chicago draws to an end.
