Pride Parade

If you're looking for some awesome outdoor activities to do this weekend, well everything listed here lets you bask in the glorious sun and warm weather (hand-picked by yours truly). We have the Logan Square Arts Festival, Chicago Dragon Boat Race, Elston Ave. Sausage & Music Fest, Randolph Street Market Festival, and the Chicago Pride Parade.

Let's do this.

You won't find another neighborhood festival like this one in Chicago. This three-day event literally turns Logan Square into a pop-up art district, complete with live local and national-touring bands. Interactive family activities and great food vendors will you keep you busy all day, so head to Logan Square this weekend for an outstanding festival.

Chinatown Dragon Boat Race

Head out to Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chinatown on Saturday to experience one of the coolest and lesser known events in the city. The Chicago Dragon Boat Race for literacy pits competing boats shaped like dragons against each other as they race up the South Branch of the Chicago River. Paddlers row to the beat of the drum at the front of the boat, and prepare to see lots of close finishes as flag-catchers stretch off the bow to claim the finishing marker. Dragon boat races date back more than 2,000 years ago - plan a day to watch the races and enjoy live musical and performances, as well as food and crafts while you're there.

Elston Avenue Sausage & Music Fest

You can never eat too many encased meats. It's summer, after all - this is the time to subsist on a steady diet of hot dogs, smoked sausage, bratwurst, you name it. You want them all, you say? You don't think that's too greedy?

Well, the ALL-NEW Elston Avenue Sausage & Music Fest certainly doesn't think so. Head just two blocks to the north of Addison and Elston for a weekend of delicious sausage vendors and good music. Choose from Abbey Pub, Frontier, Paulina Meat Market, Genoa Italian and more. Don't miss out.

Randolph Street Market

Everyone loves some good outdoor shopping, and the weather's looking mighty fine for this one. Head to Randolph Street Market Festival and take part in this monthly market featuring 200+ select purveyors of high quality furnishings, vintage clothing, jewelry, collectibles and more - all at very reasonable prices. This month's event is the Chicago Antique Market, featuring eight acres of shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment. Check out our blog post for more details on this weekend's market.
