Weekend Alert July 8-10

It's another action-packed weekend, Chicago! The excitement for the Taste of Chicago has begun, but don't let that limit you from all the other great events going on from Friday to Sunday. From entertaining neighborhood festivals (food & music lovers will find both at Ruido Fest, Square Roots Festival and West Fest) to sailing across the waters on a boat tour, Chicago has something for all to enjoy! 


The Second City Neighborhood Tour

On this humorous walking tour, you will get a historic mix of The Second City, Chicago and the beautiful Old Town neighborhood. The tour begins outside The Second City theatre on North Wells Street and winds its way through the historic Old Town neighborhood. Prepare to be entertained and informed as the tour highlights the architecture, history and development of Old Town!


Taste of Chicago

Taste of Chicago: July 6-10, 2016

Fill up on all flavors of Chicago — from classic local dishes, to specialty cuisines from ethnic neighborhood restaurants, to inspired chef creations — at the annual lakefront festival Taste of Chicago in Grant Park. There will be entertainment for all ages and several thousand tasting servings of favorite Chicago foods. Musical entertainment includes headliners The Roots, The Decemberists, The Isley Brothers featuring Ronald and Ernie Isley, and many more.

West Fest

West Fest

Head to West Town for the summer festival that's been hailed as one of the best in the city and suburbs by the Chicago Tribune. The 12th annual street fest includes West Town's most popular boutiques and restaurants as well as some of the most critically-acclaimed live music of the year on two stages. Music headliners for the main stage are Luna, Bully, and Cloud Nothings.


Millennium Art Festival

This top-ranked art show in the heart of downtown Chicago offers original works from more than 130 acclaimed artists! The sixth annual fest features artwork of every medium, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, wood and furniture. Ruido Fest

Ruido Fest invites all to this three-day, multi-stage outdoor music festival, showcasing Latin Post-Punk, Electronic, Hip-Hop, Rock, Psychedelia, Tropicalia, EDM, Reggae, and Pop acts from all over the world in Pilsen. The festival features over 40 acts, both established and up-and-coming bands that together represent the wide variety of Latin music culture today.


Square Roots Festival

Catanese will create artwork that embraces the design of Earthly drawings so large that they could be seen from the Moon. Viewers are encouraged to visit multiple times to witness the evolution of this extraordinary project.
