It's 4th of July weekend, Chicago! America's birthday is the perfect time to visit Chicago, and we've got the best combination of events below, plus this handy Independence Day weekend guide. Are you ready to watch the spectacular fireworks show up close? Well, Navy Pier is the place to be. Or are you ready to celebrate Chicago's house music heritage? Ribs On The River Cruises
July 1 // $49 

Ribs on the river cruise

Shoreline Sightseeing partners with Chicago's own Butch McGuire's for two Ribs on the River Cruises this summer.  The 90-minute cruises will feature small-plate samplings of Butch's succulent BBQ ribs with assorted trimmings, live music and a cash bar.  Departure will be from Shoreline's dock at Polk Bros Park at the southwest corner of Navy Pier at 8:00 pm, returning at 9:30 pm. Boarding begins 15 minutes prior.

Uptown is hosting the 8th annual food gathering over Fourth of July weekend featuring plenty of music, a daytime kids' activity area and, of course, lots of tasty slabs from both local and national ribbers. Mamby On The Beach
