Regardless, here are some awesome events to check out this weekend, including Pitchfork, the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, and some other popular festivals. Don't be filled with regret when everyone else is at these and you're not.

PITCHFORK MUSIC FESTIVAL (7/18-20)

Kendrick Lamar

Pitchfork Music Festival nabbed some great headliners this year with Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel and Kendrick Lamar set to perform this weekend. That's not to mention, however, the other really talented acts taking the stage at Union Park - be sure to check out guide for 10 Acts to See that Aren't Headliners.

 

TASTE OF RIVER NORTH (7/18-20)

Taste of River North

Enjoy amazing food, music, works by artisans, goods from area merchants, and much more at this family-friendly event, now in its 13th year. River North is known for its spectacular food and world-class art and design, and this festival goes above and beyond to showcase its characteristics. 

 

CHICAGO YACHT CLUB RACE TO MACKINAC & ASHORE THING (7/19)

CYC Race to Mackinac

See sailors off on the longest annual freshwater sailing race in the world, the 106th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, at Navy Pier on Saturday. Ashore Thing, the official Parade of Boats viewing event, lets spectators cheer on their favorite boats as they circle by the pier and head off on the course up Lake Michigan to Mackinac Island.

 

ROCK 'N' ROLL CHICAGO HALF MARATHON (7/20)

Rock N Roll Running Festival

The Rock ‘n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon presented by HumanaVitality is just what it sounds like: part marathon, part rock concert, and a whole lot of fun! This scenic, 13-mile and 5K course will guide you through some of Chicago's most iconic landmarks in downtown and along the lakefront - all to the tune of rock bands and cheer squads rooting you on at each mile.  

 

CHICAGO CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL (7/19-20)

Craft Beer Week

More than 100 specialty/small batch microbrews from Chicago, the region and the nation will be showcased at this third annual event that takes place under tents. In addition to tastings, it also features music, food and beer sales.

This year's festival will be held in conjunction with the Sheffield Garden Walk & Music Festival in our city's Lincoln Park neighborhood.
