ARTFEST MICHIGAN AVENUE (7/10-12)

Own that painting, jewelry, sculpture and pièce de résistance that you never knew you needed. Approximately 100 of the finest artists converge upon Chicago's Pioneer Court in downtown Chicago this weekend for this three-day juried outdoor gallery style art exhibit. Browse a huge variety of original artwork on display, many on sale to suit any budget.

 

CHICAGO YACHT CLUB RACE TO MACKINAC (7/10-11)

CYC Race to Mackinac

The 107th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac is the longest annual freshwater sailing race in the world. Throw on those boat shoes and head to Navy Pier to be a part of the exciting send-off of these elite sailors as they navigate up Lake Michigan. Watch hundreds of beautiful vessels pass by the shore as they embark on this ultimate sailing test of endurance, strategy and willpower.  

 

SQUARE ROOTS (7/10-12)

Tons of Chicago summer festivals bring endless amounts of fun, but none challenge the norm of typical food fests with tribute bands quite like Square Roots. The 4th annual Square Roots Craft Beer and Music Experience in Lincoln Square combines 40+ local craft brews, amazing food and a diverse crop of live entertainments acts, many of which hail from the Old Town School of Folk Music.

 

TASTE OF CHICAGO (THRU 7/12)

Taste of Chicago

Chicago does not mess around when it comes to food. Case in point with the 35th annual Taste of Chicago in Grant Park - this five-day festival running through Sunday will keep your belly full and your love of music satisfied. Come hungry, as more than 200 different menu items are out for the picking, featuring some hot pop-up restaurants and food trucks! THE COMEDY EXPOSITION OF 2015 (7/10-12)

The Comedy Exposition

If you love to laugh, there's no reason you shouldn't go to The Comedy Exposition of 2015. After a wildly successful debut last year, this upstart comedy festival is back and bringing some serious talent along with it. Head to famous venues such as iO Chicago, UP Comedy Club and Schubas to see comedians like Baron Vaughn (Conan, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Comedy Central Presents), Sara Schaefer (@Midnight, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Best Week Ever), and Todd Glass (Last Comic Standing, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Sarah Silverman Show).

 

WINDY CITY SMOKEOUT (7/10-12)

Windy City Smokeout

Get your daily amount of fruits and vegetables some other time, this weekend's all about the BBQ, baby! Windy City Smokeout: BBQ & Country Muis Fest - presented by Bub City - returns for its third year to River North, bringing with it the absolute best barbeque eats in the country. Southern-inspired fare from local Chicago restaurants will be there, as will delicious smoked meats from pitmasters and their restaurants hailing from Arkansas, Georgia and Mississippi. Music headliners are Kacey Musgraves, Chris Young and Lee Brice - gon' be a finger-lickin' good time, y'all.
