Uptown Poetry Slam

Uptown Poetry Slam

The Green Mill Lounge will be hosting the Uptown Poetry Slam hosted by Slam Originator Marc Smith. The Uptown Poetry Slam will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and features an open mike, special guests, and end-of-the-night competition. Grab a seat in the historic music club (Al Capone did so in the past) or take to the stage — Open Slam wins $10!

Art AIDS America Chicago

The Art AIDS America exhibition underscores the deep and unforgettable presence of HIV in American art. It introduces and explores the whole spectrum of artistic responses to AIDS, from the politically outspoken to the quietly mournful, surveying works from the early 1980s to the present. The exhibit features painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, and sound art by artist, some of which are only seen in large museums.
