AVP Chicago Open

Summer's almost up, but that doesn't mean it's time to shutter yourself inside. There's plenty of things to do in Chicago this weekend, starring volleyball, dance, food and fashion. It's on.



Chicago's sandy beaches are well known for attracting thousands of people for some competitive beach volleyball. This weekend, see the pros go head-to-head at Oak Street Beach for the AVP Kingston Chicago Open, whose qualifying rounds begin today. Tickets are still on sale! 



Chicago Dancing Festival

The 9th annual Chicago Dancing Festival has returned to the Windy City, bringing together the world's leading ballet, modern and contemporary dancers for the largest dance festival in the country. The remaining events (all FREE) include tonight's Dancing at the Harris at Harris Theater for Music and Dance; the Chicago Dancing Festival Gala at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Friday; and Saturday's Dancing Under the Stars finale at Millennium Park's Jay Pritzker Pavilion.

Foodies rejoice, there's a new food festival in town! The inaugural Chicago Food + Wine Festival presented by FOOD & WINE Magazine comes to Lincoln Park this weekend, gathering some heavy-hitting talent in the process. Celebrity chefs including Rick Bayless, Stephanie Izard and Graham Eliot showcase their talents for attendees, who all the while get to enjoy some truly divine cuisine and spirits. Chicago Fashion Fest

Get in on all the fabulous fashionista action this weekend at the Chicago Fashion Fest, featuring more than 20 unique runway shows throughout. See the latest looks from Chicago's top designers and boutiques, then head to Shopper's Row to browse exclusive booths of local fashion designers and salons. Live music from The Mowgli's and The Black Lips rounds out the fest.
