Join the ninth annual Chicago International Movies & Music Festival (CIMMfest) to enjoy a showcase that celebrates the inseparable connection between music and movies. While the multi-venue festival continues to be centered along the 1.5-mile stretch of Milwaukee Avenue from Wicker Park Bucktown to Logan Square, this year the CIMMfest footprint expands throughout Chicago's most arts-friendly neighborhoods, from Hyde Park to Lincoln Square. CIMMfest has also added two film categories in competition, including Best Soundtrack and Best Original Score, further showcasing the connection of music in film.  



A Cross Cultural, All Senses Taste of Iceland

More than 130 restaurants will offer an inspired menu or dish for 11 days in honor of the culinary legend. ICYMI, James Beard Eats Week is a prelude to the 2017 James Beard Foundation Awards Gala to be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago — and the whole city is celebrating with fun foodie focused events.



Record Store Day

Now in its 10th year, Record Store Day is for the people who make up the world of the record store including the staff, the customers, and the artists to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store. In Chicago fans line up for special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products made exclusively for this day. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, DJs spinning records, and on and on.
