There are so many great comedy shows coming up in the next few weeks it's almost overwhelming. I've pulled out a few that I think you should add to your list of shows to check out. Take a peek below for more details.

UP Comedy Club
Tuesday, Oct. 21
7 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.

John Hodgman may be best recognized as a regular Resident Expert from "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." However, before he went on television, he was a simple writer, humorist, expert, and former professional literary agent living in New York City. John Hodgman will be performing two different shows on this upcoming Tuesday night, so if you're a fan or you're just intrigued by intelligent comedy, he's a sure-fire bet to deliver on both of those.

The Annoyance Theatre
10:30 p.m.

"Burlesque Is More" is Annoyance's steamy-hot burlesque/improv show featuring acts by seven stimulating ladies. You'll get to know the girls as they tackle a problem based on a suggestion from the audience, with assistance from their ever-helpful club owner, Nick ‘Crazy Legs' Divencenzo. This show comes highly recommended and as an improv show - you can see it over and over again and see something new everytime.

ComedySportz Chicago
Thursday, Oct. 23 & 30
10 p.m.

Just in time for Halloween, musical improv meets the macabre in a tingling 50-minute tale that starts with a suggestion from you, the audience. Performed by members of the ComedySportz ensemble, Cursed! follows in the haunting spirit of the great camp horror musicals such as "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Annie." Only this time, the sun may not come up tomorrow! Watch, if you dare!

UP Comedy Club
Thursday, Nov. 6 & Friday, Nov. 7
8 p.m.

Join Bob Odenkirk for an evening of entertainment as he introduces his new book, "A Load of Hooey," which he fondly refers to as "the best thing he's ever done." "A Load of Hooey" is a collection of short comedy scripts and essays he's written over the years -- some of which have appeared in The New Yorker, VICE Magazine and FILTER Magazine, among other publications. There will be a book signing after the shows, so if you're a "Breaking Bad," "Fargo" or anticipated "Better Call Saul" fan, don't miss this chance to meet Mr. Bob Odenkirk in person!

UP Comedy Club
Friday, Nov. 7 & Saturday, Nov. 8
8 p.m. &  10:30 p.m.

If you haven't heard of Pete Holmes, you must be living under a rock. Otherwise, you know this loveable guy from "The Pete Holmes Show" or his podcast "You Made It Weird," that unfortunately got cancelled after two seasons, but he's had his fair share of time in the spotlight. Get your tickets to see Pete before they sell out!
