Did you know that in addition to Black History Month, February is also often celebrated as Reggae Month? Let's get down in its honor on these local dancefloors!

Reggae Gold at Subterranean (2011 W. North Ave)

The weekend starts early at Subterranean every week when Reggae Gold kicks off every Thursday. Voted the best reggae night in town by Chicago Magazine, DJ Papa G curates a night of hot and heavy dancing with a wide range of reggae classics. Ladies, you'll never pay a cover! Guys, it's just $5 at the door. The party goes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. but you'll want to get there by 11 p.m. It gets pretty packed and you don't want to be left out in the cold.

Swaggarific Saturdays at Exedus II (3477 N. Clark)

Reggae rages every Wednesday through Sunday at Exedus II in Wrigleyville but Saturdays are a night not to be missed. One Blood Sound and DJ Swacky are on the decks til 3 a.m. and the dancing won't wind down any earlier. Whether you're looking for a place to celebrate a Cubs' win or just searching for an ideal dancing destination, this is the place to be. Ladies, you only have to be 21 or older to attend but, guys, there is a 25 years age cutoff. Cover is $10. Get there by 11 p.m. if you want to get in the door for free!

Rocksteady! at The Shrine (2109 S. Wabash)

Sundays aren't a day of rest at The Shrine. Instead, they keep the weekend rocking steady with a reggae and dancehall explosion. This South Loop dance spot is already a hotspot throughout the week but you definitely won't want to be left out when DJ Ringo and One Blood Sound are on the one's and two's. This party goes til 2 a.m.
