Santa Claus is quite the man about town this season, making appearances where you'd least expect. Whether you've been naughty or nice, now is the time to find the man in red to tell him what's on your holiday wish list. Here are three offbeat places to spot Santa in Chicago.

On a boat...

On Saturday, Dec. 13, families are welcome aboard the Spirit of Chicago for a day of Christmas fun on the Santa Lunch Cruise. DJ entertainment and a visit from the big man in red together with the breathtaking views of Chicago's skyline on the Spirit of Chicago's climate-controlled ship promise a memorable family experience. The cruise will also feature the Spirit of Chicago's brand new lunch menu that incorporates fresh, organic ingredients to satisfy all cruisers: think organic spinach and kale salad, Mediterranean couscous and chickpea salad; roast salmon and tilapia, chicken parmesan meatballs and roast broccoli. The meal ends on a sweet note with assorted mini desserts and fresh fruit. Board from Navy Pier at 12:30 p.m.; the cruise runs from 1:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. From $42.90 for adults and $25.95 for children (3-12 years).

 

At the aquarium...

Enjoy breakfast at Shedd Aquarium, Chicago's beloved aquarium, as well as a visit from Santa and lots of other surprises on Saturdays, Dec. 13 and 20. Your experience includes a private viewing of the 15-minute The Polar Express 4-D Experience, reserved seats to Holiday One World, and a free gift from Santa. Afterwards, head to the Polar Play Zone to see the marine life that lives closer to Santa's hometown. Cost is $49.95 for adults; $39.95 for children (ages 3-11); Shedd Members: $44.95 for adults; $34.95 for children (ages 3-11). Reservations are required. 

 

At the top of the John Hancock building...

From Nov. 22 to Jan. 1, 360 CHICAGO - the observatory atop the John Hancock building, 1,000 feet above the Mag Mile - plays host to the  "TILT the Season" event, a one-of-a-kind holiday attraction. The observatory will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with spectacular sky-high views of the city lights and frosty lakefront. Santa will be enjoying the view, too, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday as well as Christmas Eve. Photos with Santa will be complimentary for 360 CHICAGO guests. General admission starts at $12.
